Middle West (snippet)

WE made plans to sit under an Alabama Sky, hitch a ride to a Louisiana Swamp,

Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise. Leave this middle west behind.

This ain’t even home!

We’d pick pecans in Arkansas, grab some Mississippi Mud, build southern mud castles for our ancestors on the way, to let them know where we’ve been. We’d get to Georgia and sit under those peach trees with all of our beginnings in our being.

The world was in the palm of our hands. The horizon was at our feet.

We were merely spells to be cast – far and wild and forever.

The universe is waiting on us to catch up to ourselves, Sister Girl.
